Ingredients:
- Chicken – ½ kg (cut into pieces)
- Onion – 2 (finely chopped)
- Tomato – 2 (chopped into small pieces)
- Ginger-Garlic Paste – 1 tablespoon
- Curry Leaves – 1 sprig
- Coriander Powder – 1 ½ tablespoons
- Chilli Powder – 1 tablespoon
- Garam Masala – 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric Powder – ½ teaspoon
- Fennel Powder – 1 teaspoon
- Coconut Milk – 1 cup (optional)
- Oil – 2 tablespoons
- Salt – as required
Preparation Method:
- Heat a pan and add oil.
- Add curry leaves and chopped onions, then sauté well.
- Once the onions turn golden brown, add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté thoroughly.
- Add the chopped tomatoes and cook slightly before adding turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, fennel powder, and salt. Stir well on low heat.
- Add the chicken pieces and mix them well with the masala.
- Pour enough water, cover the pan, and cook on medium heat until the chicken is fully cooked.
- Once the chicken is cooked, add coconut milk and let it thicken.
- Finally, add garam masala and mix well.
- Serve hot with rice, appam, parotta, or ghee rice!
Tip:
- Adding crushed black pepper enhances the taste.
- If you prefer a more traditional taste, cook without coconut milk and let it boil well.
