Ingredients:
- Rice flour – 2 cups (Not puttu flour, use special string hopper flour)
- Salt – ½ teaspoon
- Water – 1 ½ cups (heated)
- Grated coconut – ½ cup
Preparation Method:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the rice flour and salt.
- Gradually add the hot water while mixing and knead well until you get a soft, non-sticky dough.
- Fill a string hopper press with the dough and press it onto idli plates or string hopper mats in small portions.
- Steam cook for about 5-7 minutes. Avoid overcooking.
- Once cooked, sprinkle grated coconut on top and serve warm.
