Kerala style Oats Upma preparation methods

Oats Upma

Ingredients 

Slightly fried oats  -  100 gram

Black gram -  ½ table spoon

Bengal gram – ½ table spoon

Mustard seed -  1 tea spoon

Cumin  seed  -  1 tea spoon

Red chillies  -  2

Green chillies  -  3 finely chopped

Onion – 1  finely chopped

Ginger  -  one piece  finely chopped

Carrot and beans  - finely chopped

Green peas  - little

Curry leaves  - asa required

Salt – as required

Coconut oil  -  as required

 

Method of preparation 

Take a pan and heat oil.  Add mustard seed into it and allow to splutter.  Add cumin seed into it.  besides this  add  Bengal gram,  black gram and curry leaves into it and  fry in oil . when this mix get fried, add all the finely  chopped vegetables  into it . then add  half cup of water . close the lid and boil.  After the vegetables get cooked add salt. then add  fried Oats into it. mix well. When the water gets completely drained you can remove this from the stove.  Oats Upma is ready to serve
